6:Paolo Maldini(ACMilan、義大利人)
7:Kaka(ACMilan、巴西人)

9:Sheva(Chelsea、烏克蘭人)

偷偷留個小紀錄, No. 5 Torres, No.18 Raul

因為賽後報導真的不少,就挑幾個當做重點記錄好了.

Milan result keeps Maldini smiling

by Richard Aikman from London

Paolo Maldini was upbeat after helping AC Milan hold Arsenal FC to a goalless draw in the first leg of the first knockout round tie in London. "It's an excellent outcome," he said.

Captain confident
Maldini had said on the eve of the match that he was conscious his trip to London could be his last foray into foreign fields as a Rossoneri player and he was certainly kept busy by an energetic Arsenal side. But the 39-year-old survived the test posed by a youthful Gunners outfit, and was brimming with confidence after helping keep another clean sheet. "In my experience a 0-0 away from home is a good result," he said. "The fact that in the last five minutes they went for broke to try and get a result suggests to me that they felt the scoreline wasn't the best result for them."

'Good result'
The European champions shared a goalless draw with Celtic FC in Glasgow at this stage last season before overcoming the Scottish side in extra time at San Siro and these are the sort of matches that give the seven-time winners belief. "The big advantage is that we're playing the second leg at home," continued Maldini. "We have experience of getting results in that situation against all the big sides. The only exception was the [1-0] defeat to Barcelona [in 2006], which was the only match where we didn't play better in the home leg – and it was fatal. But we're satisfied with the result. It's an excellent outcome against the side who are first in the Premier League and which everyone has been saying play the best football in Europe."

Lucky Milan
Massimo Oddo was also pleased with the result but confessed that Milan benefited from a stroke of good fortune when Emmanuel Adebayor headed against the bar in the last seconds. "We were a bit lucky," he said. "Especially with the last move of the match, so we'll settle for the draw. As a team we lacked a little bit of incisiveness in attack and maybe we didn't counterattack quickly enough. It wasn't exactly a vintage performance but we managed to hang in there; we were very compact and the result could certainly serve us well for the return leg."

Flawless Milan keep Arsenal at bay

By Henry Winter at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal (0) 0 AC Milan (0) 0

This time, the Italians held on. This time, the master-class in defending from visiting Serie A experts was flawless. AC Milan last night managed what Inter had failed to do 24 hours earlier at Liverpool, defending superbly for 90 minutes rather than 86. Paolo Maldini, 39 going on 19, was magnificent.

Beginning at left-back, finishing at centre-half, Maldini was applauded from the field by the Londoners' fans after frustrating an Arsenal side still smarting from their weekend thrashing in the FA Cup.

Maldini was rolling back the years. Now at centre-half, Milan's captain and enduring symbol showed all his experience in guiding Fabregas's driven pass away from Adebayor. Milan's main men were beginning to show, Kaka briefly threatening Jens Lehmann's goal. Another dart by Kaka was halted crudely by a trip from Senderos, who was deservedly cautioned.

Adebayor and Fabregas provided moments of hope for the Londoners.

Wenger's side must now travel to Maldini's back-yard, expecting another tight game but knowing how valuable an away goal will be. Maldini will have other ideas.

Maldini Praises English Fair Play

by Roberto Rossi

Milan captain Paolo Maldini was pleased with his side’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal last night and has praised the country of England for its sportsmanship and respect.

The Rossoneri put up a dogged defensive display as they ground out a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium in their Champions League last 16 first leg tie.

Maldini, who was absolutely outstanding on the night, is pleased with the result and believes Milan can repeat their efforts from last year when they turned over Manchester United in the semi-final after beating them in the second leg at San Siro.

“We came back with a good result,” the 39-year-old enthused.

“In the return leg I’m expecting a similar game to last year against Manchester United and we can go on the attack when we need.

“Arsenal are a very young side with a group of good lads.”

Finally Maldini had some words of praise for the English sporting culture. England are renowned for their fair play and sportsmanship on the field, and the footballing legend admires this.

“For me, it is always good to come and play in England where there is such a sporting culture and respect for opponents,” he concluded.

Maldini was making his 1001st appearance in professional football during yesterday’s game.
