Amid speculation that his future lies away from Anfield with Real Madrid reported to be in hot pursuit, Liverpool’s Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso had tongues wagging for a different reason this weekend as the footballer married his long-term partner Nagore Aramburu in San Sebastian, Alonso’s home town.

Unlike many of the lavish footballer wedding, Alonso appeared to have a low-key affair with only 200 guests reported to be in attendance. The notable footballers who made the guest list included Everton’s Mikael Arteta and Luis Garcia.
