MALDINI: ‘Kaka is Kaka’
9/14/2005

Paolo Maldini: ‘The game was complicated by the penalty shot, with that they tied. However, I believe that a moment of confusion in 90 minutes can happen. The games end at 90 minutes, you have to believe down until the end, just like we did. Who can compare to Kaka? Kaka is Kaka and he should feel like the great player that he is. He is a champion that can do it all. He has supersonic speed. He is very important to us, truly fundamental. My knee after the two games? It seems good to me, but we will evaluate it tomorrow, as always.’

KAKA: 'One of my most beautiful goals’

MILAN - Ricardo Kaka is enjoying the magnificent evening that ended with a splendid double. He commented on his second goal: ‘It is surely one of the most beautiful of my career with Milan. I am happy to have helped the team win the match. I looked at the keeper and I shot hard, the ball entered the net. Then there were the special exultations of the fans, I would have like to have hugged them all. Comparisons to great champions of the past? I am flattered, but I have my characteristics and it is right that like them I am writing my own story.’

SIMPLY KAKA

It was the Kaka show at La Scala del Calcio as the young Brazilian scored twice in Milan’s 3-1 win over Fenerbahce in their Champions League group stage opening game. The Rossoneri were at their free-flowing best especially in the first half and Kaka opened the scoring with a low shot from the edge of the area after Andrea Pirlo produced a classy backheel to create space. It was Kaka’s second goal in four days and the midfielder was to repeat the double he scored against Shakhtar on November 24, 2004 in stunning fashion after the visitors had drawn level from a penalty. There can be few better goals in Europe this week as the Golden Boy skipped past three tackles before the entering the area and finishing with a low shot under the keeper. Andriy Shevchenko put further gloss on the result, with a close-range finish in the final minute.

SHEVA: 'The Golden Ball? I would only give it to Kaka’

MILAN - Andriy Shevchenko spoke with the Milan Channel: ‘It was a difficult match that was resolved by a great player. Ricky deserves everyone’s applause. If I give up the Golden Ball, I would give it to Kaka. A champion like that doesn’t need any words, just leave him to play. Bobo or Gilardino also could have scored today, both did a lot for the team. Even if they didn’t score, the group is the important thing. I believe in the group. In difficult moments we will pull out the determination, today it touched Kaka, tomorrow another.’

ANCELOTTI: 'Kaka is a player from another time’
9/13/2005
MILAN – The comments of coach Carlo Ancelotti: ‘It was a well played match, even though we are not yet in top form, as is normal for this period. They held onto the ball as we expected, but it wasn’t that daunting. We deepened our attack, pushed hard and suffered a bit. In the end, we obtained an important victory. Kaka? A goal and a game of another time. I remember the goal Maradona scored against England in the World Cup in Mexico. In soccer today, Ricky is the only one able to do these things.’
